We are excited to announce that we awarded 66 COVID Mini-Grants, distributing nearly $5,000 to help Chemistry Department graduate students with COVID-related expenses.
We want to sincerely thank Chris Moores, Jonathan Maendel, Colleen Kjellberg, Rich Dodd, the Business Office, and the Chemistry Department for their support in this initiative.
We also want to give a big shoutout to Graduate Liaison Committee (GLC), Research Safety Student Initiative (RSSI), and Women and Science and Engineering Research (WISER) for contributing funds to this program.

NEW: PLU Offering Grant for COVID-Related Expenses

The Alpha Gamma chapter of the Phi Lambda Upsilon (PLU) Chemistry Honor Society is pleased to announce that all graduate students in the Chemistry Department are eligible to apply for a grant for COVID-related expenses incurred since the beginning of the pandemic.
Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to NU parking passes, the TGS Activity Fee, PPE for personal use, childcare, home office equipment, etc.
To apply for this $75 COVID mini-grant, please fill out the form linked below and return it to the PLU Awards chair at [email protected] by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Grants are limited based on the funds available (90 awards to PLU members, 46 awards to non-PLU-members) and will be awarded based on the expense justification and the applicant's service to the department (if applicable).
Funds for PLU members will be disbursed from PLU, while funds for non-PLU-member chemistry graduate students will be disbursed from funds graciously donated by the Graduate Liaison Committee (GLC), Research Safety Student Initiative (RSSI), and Women and Science and Engineering Research (WISER).
