RSVP: https://northwestern.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMscO6hpzkvGN3HN7ugm1QL2YMhhphd_WG7
Description: What do careers in science policy look like? And how do you set yourself up for success if you want to pursue this path? Join a panel of PhD alumni (psychology, endocrinology, and chemistry) who successfully made the transition from the bench to organizations like the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. They will share the ins and outs of their experiences as postdocs, AAAS fellows, and beyond, and how they are using their science savvy to impact society. In addition, learn how science policy careers, in many ways, parallel the rigors of the tenure-track – requiring superb problem-solving and communication skills, self-direction, motivation, and grit.
Time: Jan 28, 2021 03:00 PM in Central Time (US and Canada)
Coordinated by the Northwestern Alumni Association in partnership with The Graduate School, the Graduate Student Association, and Women In Science and Engineering Research.
